Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

So I thought... We have a great music thread, random topic thread and various lava/glitter/fiber/rain/plasma/wave/motion image threads. I think we need one to support general photography, unique images and moving pictures (e.g. gifs and other things that move). Maybe it will be a quiet thread maybe it will get rowdy. I could be talking to myself here! Post images that move you, excite you, make you laugh maybe even cry! Express with imagery!

So I kinda have a fetish for watches... I give you HARDCORE WATCH PORN! That shimmer of the freshly machined gears at 1:20... and the movement activating at 1:57 the orientation of the second hand installation at 2:22 really has my OCD flared, that second hand should be installed at 12 o'clock in order for the TIME TO BE EXACT! especially seeing as it is a $2500+ timepiece... Still a sexy keeper of time!

Yessssss, wipe that face clean at 2:42.

I would so be a watchmaker if I didn't have the jitters.

WOW, and I'm afraid of doing a re'goo!!!  Such intricate stuff.....definitely not your Timex!!!  My husband got a Molvado (sp?) watch from the casino he worked at work 15 years of service.  Nice watch, eats up batteries like crazy though.  My friend used to own his own clock repair biz.  Mostly old vintage stuff he would repair and restore.  Grandfather clocks were his specialty.  But alas, his age took over and he too had a hard time keeping a steady hand so he had to let it be.  Also, he said it was a shame because when modern technology took over he found that not many customers used his services anymore.......I guess sometimes it's just too much of a digital world.  But that video was fascinating.  We take sooo many things for granted and then we see how something is made and we are like WOW!!!

Interesting sculpture, I wouldn't put it in a hallway though

and just for fun

Way trippy stuff!!!!  lol!!

Yea, similar to the TV/VCR repair people, their shops are just dusty boxes now, it is easier and cheaper to toss it and buy a new one anymore :( Everyone runs a cell phone watch now, while I do use my phone clock I wear a watch and use it more often than the phone. It is crazy to see things run their lifespan, I work in digital design and print, the print side of things is definitely slowing down, it is sad.

Nice gear driven set Keith!  If you had that silver orb/spinning blade thing in your house you could tell people 'Oh don't mind that thing, it is just there to confuse you...and read your brain so...think good thoughts in my home ;)

My girlfriend took college courses in textiles and design......she used to design clothing for different stores that aren't there anymore.  She is now working at a small pet shop (the one I USED to work for b4 I got laid off), making minimum wage.  It's sad.  Technology can help us tremendously, but on the flip side it is hurting us and taking a lot of jobs that 2 human hands could have otherwise done.  Ya know, they predicted this a long time ago when the first computer and hard drive were born!!!  Crazy huh?  I thought naaa, I won't see technology taking over in MY TIME!!!  I envisioned like The Jetsons.  Robots waiting on us and things to that nature, but coming from the 60's, 70's and 80's, I gotta tell ya, It is happening in MY TIME!!  I come from the big, heavy, black, rotary telephone and still remember party lines to an apple iphone that takes my pics, wakes me up every am, and even allows me to talk in my text to friends!!!  I don't even think about it, but when I am forced to sit down and THINK ......wow, what a mind blower.

Hey, I remember the first guy I dated when I was 17 years old.  His basement was fixed up like a hippy pad.  He had a lava lamp, wave machine, and one of those disco balls but with all the mirrors and a black light and he had those fluorescent chaulks that you would write on his walls and the black light would light up all the writing.  I thought, what the heck is this???  Now, I'm like wow, I wish I could go back to see that again. We thought he was rich because he had the very 1st Betamax!!!  This thing was humongous  weighed about 1,000 pounds!!  omg!!!  We would all get together like 30 deep and cram  his basement to watch a theater movie on tv.  We thought that was the coolest thing!!!  Oh the memories.

I found one.....now how the heck to post it, haaaa!!!!!

Anybody wanna give it a go at captioning the above for fun??!!!  We should hear some interesting comments........lol!!

Leave the disco and PHONE HOME for pete's sake!!!!.
