I would also like to add, that I have ran lamps for much longer than 8 hours; I ran one for an entire week once, and the lamp is completely fine. This lamp does look a bit overheated in my opinion, but it could just be its personality. Either that, or the room that it is located in is a little too warm.

Fun fact: overheating has absolutely nothing to do with running it too long. It actually has to do with running the lamp in a room that is too hot. They are supposed to be ran in a room temperature of 68-72. I have permanently ruined many lamps that way, and now that I know that, I can say I have not since ruined another lamp.
Anyways, that color is beautiful!!

Regardless - this color combo kicks very serious butt.  Very envious Matt.

Are you referring to a new manual?  Because the ones used with the American lamps says not to EXCEED 8 hrs. Some lamps fill have more blobs than other lamps, despite being turned on at the same time.  This lamp IS NOT OVERHEATING.

Quoted from a manual:
"Do not run the lamp for more than six hours to ensure a long globe life"
And also the signs of overheat are the lava breaking up into a few million pieces.

No, it was on only about 5-6 hours here.
