Lava Insiders Lamp - 32 oz. 17" Metallic

Verdict is still out, as I've only ran this lamp two times. But, I can tell you this:

1) The flow is terrible. Like, really bad.
2) The color of the liquid is purple, not blue.

Mr. Magoo - I concur. I find that for any new lamps, clear fluid and colored lava are the best options if you can consider that an option lol.

A spencers about an hour from me has an older 52oz (2015 I believe) clear with blue lava. Black base and cap. New in the tube never opened. I might snag it as they don't make that anymore.

great color imo, but like magoo said, one up, one down zzzzzzzzzz.

Mr MaGoo - that's exactly right! LOL

kero, this is the Lava Insider's lamp from Lava Lite's site. It's not from Spencer's, though I assume they were likely made at the same factory.

Edit: I think the one at spencers is clear fluid, green lava. Might be a nicer combo.

I saw these at spencers the other day. I would run it for a week before you decide on the flow as new lamps need about a week to reach a decent flow. You still might get blobs up and down but they might turn gooeyer.

One ball up, one ball down....and repeat!

They seem to be on the metal themselves. I do like the base and cap, but the flow is terrible. I've had a handful of 32oz globes over the years and some of them are OK. I hope this one might loosen up, but not sure.

So, basically if you're OK with pay $40 for the base and cap. I'd say get it.

What do you think of the base? are those specks part of a shrink wrapping or are they on the metal itself?
