Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Happy Anniversary - 10 years of the new Goo chat forum.

Wow, these 10 years have gone by so quickly. Of course Oozing Goo is now 20 years old overall but changed quite radically back in November 2007 when the new look chat forum was launched and many more people world wide started to join in and post discussions, pictures, blogs and also use the new instant chat facility. There have been many ups and downs in that time, disagreements and heated discussions, members banned and naughty spammers banished are a few things on the negative side. In the main though, there have been many more positives. This is a very friendly and informative forum with members old and new and genuine friendships made. The best place to come for all things lava lamp, glitter lamp, fibre optics and fancy lamps too as well as an insight into people's interesting life style choices and interests.

Do you have any memories you'd like to share of the last 10 years or indeed going back to the early years of the site, 1997 - 2000 - to a time when Lava Lites were still made in the USA.

time flies as they say, doesnt seem that long, been ups and downs like all groups, back when mathmos ruled and lava world when to china, such a shame that even after all this time our american friends still have to put up with non flowing brand new cloudy lamps :-(

But on a positive note a great site for imfo and oddities in the world of lava

I found OG in October of 2008 (or did OG find me? lol).  I jumped right in with both feet and have enjoyed all the information, humor, and camaraderie.  Endured squabbles, bannings, and differences of opinion.  Shared in sadness, loss of loved ones, loss of pets, and even loss of lamps.

I am thankful for all of the tips and methods I have learned and even been able to share here.  Glad for friends made and being able to encourage others in their collecting.  I've even learned to moderate my enthusiasm, after learning that members have "gotten in trouble" for buying too many lamps!

I am glad to be a member here, where lava lovers are a family.

It's very true guys. Nice to be part of the lava family. Like with all families there are ups and downs, rows and squabbles but mainly good times. It has been so nice to meet fellow enthusiasts and collectors and to make friends here.

I joined this website in 2005, when I was only 17 lol.  When I joined, I was a tad immature lol, but I remember some pretty cool people... Osolava, Weebotech, Astrobaby, and a few others I can't remember.  I don't visit this site too frequently, but when I do, something always grabs my attention.

Yes, lots of the old names no longer contribute or are here at all. Knew Astrobaby well and also Jen (Osolava), a really lovely person. There was also Woodvetch, Bumpkin and Bohdan, an ultimate collector of everything lava to name a few. Where do they go, who knows. Miss those guys and loads of others too.

I remember Bumpkin from 2008.  She was so nice, but sick.  She lived in Central California.  I know she had cancer.  Hope she is ok.
