How to tell a antique lamp from a 90s lamp ??

Im looking at alot of lamps on ebay and all these stsrlight lamps all the ads say retro vintage 60-70s but honestly didnt they make these lamps into the late 90s to early 2000s ?

Some of them seem to have black plastic base bases others dont.. some habe brown cords some black.. The stickers inside the lamp the blue one is round the other is square.. Honestly i cant tell what is really a antique lamp and what isnt.. And to me lamps from the 90s arent antique..Im looking for 60-70s.

There is a echantress lamp im bidding on.. but the blue sticker inside is round and i dont know if that means 80s or 70s..  I keep reading alot of contradicting information on this website and other sites.. some people say the envhantress with flowers were never made past 82.. other say 90s.. Some people say the blue sticker if its round its 80s plus other say it needs to be square to be 70s.

Like this lamp.

is this 70s or 90 and up... The wax is messed up in it.. but this is an example... What years is this one from in actuality.. It says aug 1974.. but is,this really a 1974 lamp ??  Im sure i can fix the wax.. drain the water boil the bottle to get the water ot if the wax.. Ive done it before to my brother 90s lamp.. his wax had million of massive water bubbles in it... looled terrible... drained it.. boiled it.. refilled it with distilled water.. soap and salt and it works and looks likes new.

I wouldnt pay 100 for this lamp but this is a good starting off point

Most sellers don't take the time to research the items they sell. Any lamp with a black base was made in the late 80s to present. It is very difficult to differentiate the gold Century's because they were made with the screw caps until 1997. One indicator is the cord. The older lamps have the thin brown cord, while anything modern will have a black cord. The lamp you referenced is from August 1974. Those early Century's did have the sticker with the date on the top.
Anything with a Silver starlight base was made in the 90s up until 2002.

So what decade is this lamp from 70 or 80s.  Person says its 77, but i cant tell. They said it has a sticker in the cap.  I did notice it seemed newer ones the base was black instead of gold, and the newer ones had black cords vs brown..  My moms old stuff from the 70s has brown cords too so i guess it isnt just lava lamps lol

Early to mid '70s.

cool that one i won tonight.

What about this lamp

That's a very nice planter. That one is probably mid '70s. Beautiful lamp.

Yea im trying to get it, the seller is an complete asshole though.. I asked if i could buy it for 60$ she goes sure, remakes the ad for 60 and then when i try to buy it it says she blocked me from bidding and buying from her..  I ask her and she blows up crying over how she wont make any money off it, thats the last time she helps a friend and then takes the thing off and puts it back up for auction...

That really iritates me because i want this lamp badly...  I almost didnt wanna link it here so i dont have to compete with other bidders... raising the price too high..  I had to make a new ebay name to get around her from blocking me..  What a JERK !!

What do you think of this one

That's another beauty. Mid '70s again. I'd try and replace that cracked cap though if I got it. Do you have any interest in the '90s lamps? I'm referring mostly from '92-95 because those lamps, in my opinion were refined versions of their '70s counterparts.

I could have won a 98 lamp tonight was never used in the original box, but the auction was getting kinda high and i really wanted something from the 70s i like the age aspect the 98 and the 70s one i linked that i won were both ending 10 minutes apart so i had to decide which one to get..  I only have enough money for two lamps in the 70-100$ range and i want a planet badly..

I kinda regret not getting the 98 one, this is the one..  98 is a special year for me.. my dad died from cancer when i was 12 in 1998..  So im kinda kicking myself for not continuing to bid on this lamp.  I could easily won it, waited till 5 seconds and gone from 76 to like 90$ just to go past the other guys overbid

I've got like 3 of those and the purple yellow with the screw cap as well.

Do you think that planter the yellow one is worth the $115 with the cracked lid ?  Im wondering if that planter was redone liquid wise and the person put the cap on too tight and cracked it..  I dunno, Keith here on these forums thinks the plant isnt original either.

I really want a nice planter... the last 2 on ebay that sold someone linked me were $40-50 so they said the 115$ one was overpriced but the wax on those 2 were discolored like a nasty poop brown and had tons of water bubbles in the wax.. only way i know how to fix that is to drain and boil the bottle to boil the water out of the wax but that doesnt fix the nasty color..
