Hello everyone it’s been awhile. I have an Elvis Presley lamp and the lava seems to want to stick to the glass. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry Caretaker, getting used to this site again. Haven’t been on here in a while. My dad had Alzheimer’s for 10 years and just recently passed in February of this year. So now I’m trying to get back into my lamps. Thank you for your response. This lamp is in perfect shape except for the sticking part. That’s why i’m Willing to try your suggestion. Thank you again. When I get it up and running I will try and post a picture.

Best bet - pop the lid open and drain the fluid into a clean jar leaving 1/4 inch of liquid with the wax. Then turn on your lamp and let the wax melt.  Once melted pour into another clean container like a little jelly jar.  Then remove the coil and rinse it under super hot water but don't use any soap on it.  Then scrub the inside of the globe with hot water and dawn liquid soap. Once you have scrubbed the inside of the globe and rinsed out over and over again with hot water allow to dry top down so any remaining liquid can run out but make sure a little air can still get into the globe. Once the globe has dried completely pour some of the original lava liquid into the globe and swish it around to coat the entire interior of the globe. Now pour the fluid back into the jar leaving about 1/4'' liquid in the lava globe.  Now place your wax into the microwave for about a minute or so long enough for the wax to melt.  Be careful no to place in microwave too long.  Always keep an eye on it.  Once the wax has melted pour it back into the lava globe then drop the coil back in. Once the wax has entirely solidified and I mean solidified pour the lava liquid back into the globe and reseal the top.  Now plug it in and watch the wax no longer stick to the interior of the globe.  I had to do this with a Homer Simpson globe that arrived with wax stuck to the sides of the interior and no mater what I tried there was always this 2'' area where the wax would stick. I did this and now it runs beautifully and YES- NO sticking at all. It's actually fun to do and take your time while doing it. Don't rush or waste any liquid or wax. You want the lamps contents to look the same as before you popped the globe. If the liquid and lamp is in good condition and you don't want to go through with repair...I might be interested in buying it from you. Let us see the final results.
