About Me:: saw my first lava at my grandmothers neighbors house,i believe i was about 5 it was a yellow red century,I was completely taken with it....I now have about 50 lamps....

Here at the mathmos shop they leave them on running for years, the wax won't cope.

The fluidium is a design is very hard to overhead as the top stays cool there is so much water away from the bulb in the base. The fluidium is the exact to the shape of the traditional lava lamp the astro - i'd run my lamps for up 6 hrs a day.

They say you should run for no more than 8 hours at a time but you could probably get away with running it longer so long as it isn't visibly overheating
