Hi,

I have a soft spot for the Clearview lamps and have been seeking one for awhile now but for some reason haven't been able to find one, or I do find one locally and for whatever reason things fall through etc. I prefer not to use ebay as prices tend to be erratic from what I've noticed for Clearviews recently(and I'd rather just deal with Oozinggoo members instead).
I'm interested in buying/trading for either a complete lamp and base or just the base if you prefer. I don't have a large or exotic collection yet so I'm going to assume it will probably be buying rather than trading(would rather buy) hence the reason for only giving a very perfunctory list of what I have available for trade:

1. A green liquid yellow wax china Grande. It is clear with good flow, base and cap have been repainted with Rust-o-leum "Chalked" light grey mattte paint. (check the "copper Grande" in my photo's for an example of my painting process results).

2. Misc custom lamps that I will be uploading pics of within the next couple hours.

I live in the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area in case anyone happens to be local to my location.

Do Clearview's come in 52 oz? If so very interested in that, but I'm pretty sure they don't.

I picked up a Midnight globe to use as a swapper with my Carlisle base while I (hopefully) refurb the Carlisle globe, but the fit isn't quiiiite the same…which leaves me in need of a proper Midnight base for it. Does anyone have a "spare" they'd like to sell?

So I read an article on Oozing Goo the other day,
http://www.oozinggoo.com/colorchange.html
and decided on a whim to change the color of my 2001 32oz USA Lava Lite Black Starship Lava Lamp from clear to red. Just like the article said, I pried the tabs up one by one, my heart pounding the whole time. I had bought a vile of Kroger brand Red no.40 food coloring the day before, and added 1cc of dye to my Lava Vase.
However, I took the extra precaution of permanently re-sealing the cap by painting a ring of acrylic nail fortifier inside the cap and on the lip of the bottle. Later, after re-crimping the cap back onto the bottle, I applied a liberal amount of the stuff under the rim of the cap, further ensuring that my lamp will never, ever leak.

After waiting a whole day for the nail polish to set, I plugged it in, and whola, it is beautiful. BTW, the lava really is a true black; it looks purple because my webcam is crap. Know anywhere to buy discontinued 32 oz. refills?tag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2008-03-28:1566398:Topic:305922008-03-28T19:45:57.388ZMiddyhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/Middy
I'm bummed that my ~6 year old custom lamp got knocked over when it was warm and is now cloudy. When I bought it, you could mix and match a silver or black base with any color lava globe. It seems the globe refills are discontinued now, but all I want is a clear liquid/red lava globe. It's a shame to waste the perfect base and cap by buying one of the new 32 oz. lamps w/ clear/red or just getting a new 20 oz one.
I also really love the coach lantern style. I'd sacrifice my silver base for that. I just wish it came with clear/red!!!
Well, can anyone help?
