I managed to import a Grande from Amazon US that thankfully arrived intact today (even though it was in its torn up box, with no outer protective box at all), but I am now realizing one key thing I had forgotten to look up: If there is a suitable bulb for this lamp for 230V outlets.

Currently, I'm considering whether PAR20 halogens on a dimmer would work alright for the Grande, but I can't ascertain whether they put out the heat too concentrated to the middle of the globe's bottom surface, which might cause hot spots and flow problems.

I dug my old Xemu Xeno alien lamp out of storage and the light bulb is burned out. But as the people in the same boat as me know, changing planes at O'Hare airport seems easier than finding a replacement bulb for this thing. A few posts floating around the internet about this topic lead to dead ends...can anybody point me in the right direction for replacing the bulb for my unit?

As time went about a year plus in the glitter began to lose all it's luster and the liquid began to turn gold so I decided to empty the bottles and replace with goo kits. I was surprised when I took the original aluminum caps off and saw the caps I purchased underneath to replace the original rubber stoppers had warped so bad it was about to fall into the lamp. As you can see the lid is really warped. The second cap is not as bad but you can clearly see it was on it's way to doing the same and notice the color coating on the stoppers came off probably the reason the liquid turned gold. I actually loved the color of the liquid when it went from clear to gold...to bad the glitter faded That being said - buyers beware when you purchased these caps.
WANTED: Lava World Darkstartag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2021-09-24:1566398:Topic:8501192021-09-24T18:22:03.956ZRobert Israelhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/RobertIsrael

I trashed one of my EXCALIBURS last night that I only fired up a couple of times and of all my EXCALIBURS not only was it one of the newest it was also one of my favorites from a set of two I acquired NEW sometime back. Both lamps are the same color etc. so I'm glad I have an extra back up lamp. Now I have a lonely base and topper. Actually I have two since my niece trashed a pink glitter EXCALIBUR I'd given her for her apartment several years ago. I've read that the bottles for the LUNARS fit the EXCALIBURS. Anyone have a clue as to what size replacement globes or bottles I can use to create new lamps that will fit the EXCALIBUR lava lamps and if so where to buy? By the way if anyone wants the wax and coil from the Excalibur send me an address and I'll gladly send your way. I hate throwing away good used parts. No charge. I'll drop it off at USPS the next time I have to return a package in a week or so. I usually go every two weeks. I saved it since it was not at all damaged when the lamp hit floor and shattered. And - YES - I'm still whining about it because it was so preventable had I not been so careless when moving it. All it took was a second and it was gone for good making other EXCALIBURS around the globe even more valuable and rare now that there are two less globes in the world. As each globe gets destroyed the ones remaining become more valuable. SPENCERS only sold so many at each location when they were first introduced so there are not as many as some regular lava lamps. This from a manager who sold me the two I'd purchased several years ago. I think I'm down to three glitters now and three with Lava. Ok - time to wipe my eyes and move on.
Hughes "Signature Series" Vessels for the Original Lava Simple "The Wave" Machines.tag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2020-12-18:1566398:Topic:7732762020-12-18T18:58:13.503ZHughesWaveMotionMachinesLLChttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/phreaktor

I purchased a Betty Boop Lamp with the heavy ceramic base similar to the Penzoil, Batman , Superman lava lamps that come with 52oz globes and really like the look of the lamp... however when I run it on a 40W frosted bulb that the lamp requires the wax just hovers four inches at most and nothing else. I replaced the frosted 40W with a 60W clear I had on hand and the lamp took off as it should only to do the same hovering thing it did while using the 40W an hour or less after it began to flow. I placed the lamp on a dimmer for both 40W and 60W and the lamps wax just hovers. Liquid is crystal clear and the wax appears to be in excellent condition. Is there anything anyone might suggest I try that I've not already done. I even placed it on different surfaces thinking a wooden file cabinet might be the cause since I've heard surfaces can also affect the operation of a lava lamp even though I've never seen a difference when it comes to placing lamps on wood or metal surfaces. Before I forget. If anyone has this lamp can you tell me if it requires the same foam inner lining that the other lamps in the series require. I'm going to remove it tonight and see if it makes any difference since it did not originally come with the lining. I just assumed that it required it since it's associates all have the lining. Hell - I'm willing to try anything before I have to reach out and have one either custom made or someone here has a 52oz black lava clear liquid they want to sell. Original LAVA BRAND only. If your suggestion(s) works I will gladly pay a 10.00 gift to the member who's suggestion gets this lamp running as it should and a post of the winning suggestion here on OG.
