Wax won't stick to coil?

This is how I did it

1 - Drain original liquid and save it for later. (Use a clean container for it)

2 - After liquid is removed heat the wax on the Lava Lamp base.

3 - After wax melt remove the coil with a hook

4 - Clean the coil with hot water and dish soap, gently

5 - Dry the coil and use break-cleaner to degrease it completely.

6 - With wax melted put the coil inside.

7 - Let the wax cool…

7 - Let the wax cool down! This is important.

8 - Put the original liquid on the Lava Lamp and close it.

9 - Turn it on!

Done!

How to fix wax sticking to your globetag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2011-04-26:1566398:Topic:2276032011-04-26T03:12:14.761ZAutumnhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/Autumn

After many months of frustration I have finally figured out the cure for wax sticking to the glass. I am confident that this will work for most people. Its very simple actually. Empty the globe and fill it completely full of gasoline. Let it sit over night, rinse it out with dawn dish soap, then refill the globe with the original contents. When you refill the globe be sure to put a little bit of liquid in it first and swish it around because the gasoline strips the lamp of all surfactant. I…

When you refill the globe be sure to put a little bit of liquid in it first and swish it around because the gasoline strips the lamp of all surfactant. I usually put half as much liquid in as I put wax in, then once the wax has cooled off and hardened I pour the rest of the liquid back in. When you pour in the wax try not to get it on the sides of the globe. This works so good the wax doesnt even stick to the bottom of the globe.

Thats it. Simple yes?
Hot rock lava sticking to the sides?tag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2010-10-18:1566398:Topic:1641112010-10-18T04:23:36.926ZAutumnhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/Autumn
I know many of you have hotrocks and as many of you know many of them have problems with the lava sticking to the sides so I thought I would share how I fixed mine. I decided to experiment with one of my hotrocks to see if I could fix it. It turns out just adding 5 ml of goo kit surfactant fixes the problem. I did not notice a change in flow or anything, it runs great now.

Hey everyone, my lamp has been shooken :(

I let it cool down and everything worked, but...

the wax sticked to the walls on some places and didn't go down (and still doesn't), which makes the lamp pretty ugly... (actually there are aproximattely 0,5 cm diameter dots, some are bigger, almost all over the walls)

Any way how to solve this? Please please please...

Hello, my name is Ezequiel. I have a practically new lava lamp (I bought it on April and I don't turn it on very often).

The thing is that a few days ago some pieces of lava started sticking to the glass... The "stains", or pieces of lava are not very big (like the size of a jelly bean or smaller), some are near the bottom and some are like in the middle of the lamp (I could upload a picture).

What can I do to remove those pieces of lava?

hi. i just found this site and thought i'd ask about my "lava lamp." i got it a few years ago as a gift, but it has never worked correctly. and, it's been shaken a few times by ignorant ppl (so there are air bubbles in the wax).
the lava does flow. but there is a thin layer at the top of the globe that sticks to the wall. in the past, i have managed to spin the globe so that the wax does not stick along most of the body of the globe. however, if left on for a long enough time, the wax will trail down to the base of the globe, which creates a path for the wax to travel up and down, leaving no opportunity for the wax to bubble up like normal.

according to the packaging, of which there is no name, the lava lamp was made in china. it has been sitting on a shelf boxed up the last few years because it didn't work before. but i thought i'd give it another try.

my only thoughts are to open the globe and clean the top of all the wax buildup (which leaves me w/ figuring out how to reseal the bottle cap at the top) or simply tossing the globe or the whole system and purchasing another lamp and globe.

i thought lava lamps were supposed to be fun and relaxing, but this one hasn't.

i've attached a few pics for anyone who has any idea of what to do. THANKS!
