Age has possibly oxidized the gold cap on my Capri. It hasn't been exposed to anything unusual and I was wondering if anyone has seen this and if there is a quick & easy way to remove 'it' w/o damage. Thanks!

Hey everyone

I picked up this capri the other day for $5. Figured i'd give it a try and fix it. The lava floats right to the top. Should I empty the liquid and melt the wax back together? Let me know what you all think.

I have a Consort globe that I would like to take the cap off and put it on my Capri globe. How would I go about doing this? I know these caps are very fragiler so I would appreciate any tips to help me do this. I want to take the cap off the Consort and put it on the Capri. I need to paint it gold first, but how would I go about taking the cap off the Consort. I don't want to bust it taking it off. Next, how do I go about putting it on the Capri globe? I need to paint it gold first, but how would I go about taking the cap off the Consort. I don't want to bust it taking it off. Next, how do I go about putting it on the Capri globe? How does it seal so it doesn't leak or evaporate? And also how tight do I tighten it? I know not very tight, but I also want it to seal. I would really appreciate some feedback on this. The reason I want to take the cap off the Consort is it doesn't really flow well and the Capri globe is almost 100% mint, amber liquid blood red lava and I want to keep this as original as possible. The Consort really doesn't matter as it can be for parts. I do have the cap from the Capri, but the threads are busted and I doubt it can be fixed. I'll post some pics when the Capri arrives. I don't have it yet, but I want to get some feedback before I start tinkering.
Really nice Capri Novelty GemLite, has mostly been stored away, very minimal signs of use .. Original box & paperwork included.. On occasion if you jiggle lamp- light will flicker on & off, but when left alone light works perfectly and glitter flows beautifully. I do not know how to open this up to check if bulb is tight or if its even possible to open.. Maybe someone can message me and let me know how to check :)

I've been looking at this auction - not bad if it's the real thing but needs some work if that's meant to be lava in there - is this a real 60s lamp? It looks like the ones that the US people call a 'capri' but i'm not sure.
I'm trying to work out too if the dudes put a coloured bulb in it, there seems to be amber light coming out the bottom where it's sat on the serrated surface? Glad the seller didn't try to tighten the cap on it like they did my Capri. It's a shame because it had such nice flow. They still shipped it with a cork in it. Nice lamp, I paid about that for my Capri. Congrats. Dave
