40 watt frosted. I've tried a 25 and a 40 clear. Speaking of opening them up what sort of crimper do you all use? I tried a std 2 lever beer compress it doesn't work cause beer bottles have a different shape of course.

What about taking out the master fluid, and putting the globe (with the cap off of course) in some simmering water to melt down all the lava with the coil in place. Let it cool down until it hardens, then put the master fluid back in. If you're gonna open it up to put the surf in, you mine as try a lava boil. I don't think the surf would help a detaching lava problem.

Rxter, are you using the stock bulb the 32 came with or a higher wattage?

I have sent it back to Argos and got two 17" ones or £13.00 each, and I have bought a Telstar on gumtree for £15. Here is a picture of my Telstar

hi shelley - it appears that the globe is overheating. when the wax gets too hot, it will detach from the coil and hover close to the bottom. try the dimmer you mentioned and let us know if that helps. i also agree with jeff in twirling the globe to get the wax to reattach to the coil. grab the globe by the top and rotate it clockwise and counterclockwise a few times. if it's overheating, it will flow right after you twirl it but most likely go back to hovering above the bottom over…

I have two USA made Giants from 1995. They take quite a few hours to warm up.

I have been cycling these for at least six weeks. At four hours they shoot pea's, then

after two more hours they create a long stream to the top. Better flow when you get

more than eight hours running.

Maybe you should run it longer, it takes MANY hours to get them going.

Here is a picture of the coil from the bottom. I don't know if this is the right position for it or not
