Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

After extensive testing,  I'm now offering many NEW glitter colors in clear fast liquid.  They are gorgeous!  Here are a few of the options.  I'll post them all below in this discussion and in my videos.

I've also developed replacement slow glitter formulas for the Florence Art, Heat Tapes, Mastercrafters, and Crestworth glitter lamps of the 60s and 70s.  The liquid in these formulas is non-flammable, non-combustible, and much less toxic than the fast, solvent-based liquid.

To simplify things, both fast and slow glitter liquid are now available at the same prices.  Here are some FAQs on the glitter liquid.

I fill all orders on a first come, first served basis.  I do all of the work by hand and take care to ensure quality.  Please allow 2-3 weeks from payment for delivery.

Kirk, My 8 -20oz globes are on the way to your P.O.Box on Monday

I'll be on look out for them, Claude.  Thank you.

** Important **

I discovered this week that the Heritage Century bases run about 10-15 degrees cooler than any other 52oz base that LL has ever produced.

This is important, because if you try to run any of your 52 ounce glitter globes with my formula on these bases, they will take a very long time to run or not run at all.  The easiest solution is to use 60W bulbs in the Heritage Century bases and dim them if they get too hot.

If you are ordering new liquid or globes that you plan on running exclusively on Heritage 52 bases, let me know and I'll send you liquid formulated to run on the cooler bases.

You are correct on the 60 watt bulb.

I have been recently researching this heating issue with Heritage bases.
I want to try to grab them while still available

They are off the LL site now and no longer in production (As best i can tell)

There appears to be many options available to resolve the flow issues they had.

Basically, the new ones were under-engineered and not as well made as the 1990's models

If it did not come with one, you can Install 40 watt spotlight bulb to direct the heat up toward the globe - or (as you suggest) use a 60 watt bulb

It will help with the heating issues.

________________

The original 1990 series had a plastic base with feet to hold the heat in,

It has been suggested to use the lid from the shipping box/tube as a base since it fits well, but I am not sure how well it will react to heat for prolonged periods.

Another option was to cut a heat shield out of old 52oz caps (but not everyone has them lying around)

Good to know.  I had suspected as much because of the looong start-up time.
