K yeah im going to see if gookits can help with the fixing of this lamp but as for the pur filter it's ass is going back to walmart lol, im really upset that it ruined my new / older purple lamp! And for the future if i feel the need to have to filter a lamp i'll be saving for a MSR filter. P.S. I added a little salt didn't work.

You rinsed the filter though. There is at least an ounce or two of water left in the filter after you rinse it. That's just enough to throw the balance off and make the lamp no longer flow correctly. I mentioned this a few posts back but it was deleted.

The great thing about the MSR is it won't mess up the balance. It retains very little fluid, if any and can dry almost instantly. Plus it does the job 100x's better and lasts through many, many lamp filters. The MSR does not strip the chemicals…

Plus it does the job 100x's better and lasts through many, many lamp filters. The MSR does not strip the chemicals out of the water. It will strip out impurities and some of the coloring out of the fluid (if the fluid is colored).
As for fixing it, you would need to add some salt water I think. I don't know. I tried my hand at fixing lamps once and it was not a pretty sight, nor was it worth the time or effort. I have relegated myself to not fixing lamps. My project ends at filtering and nothing else. K so how should i try to fix it? Does the MSR stip the water so clean that the chemicals are gone to? I only use the pur on one lamp so it didn't mix with any others,

Master fluid has changed over the years, god only knows what they put in it now. I am not sure what caused your issue, but from experience - the pur method has ruined just as many lamps as it has fixed for me. Mostly because of the fluid getting trapped in the filter and then leeching into the next lamp, which in turn, screws up the chemistry of the fluid.
You can try fixing it if you want.

I thought the master fluid was just distilled water with some small amounts of other stuff in it, y would distilled water hurt it? Haven't you / other people used the pur filter method before is it normal to have this happen?

Sounds like some of the water used to soak your filter made its way into your master fluid - it is what happens when you go the pur/brita method. You can try to fix it but I have never had great results from that. Good luck.

HELP!!!!! ok so did the pur filter method last night, the liquid turned out really clear and nice.BUT now the lamp will not flow it just heats up and sets there. Was I supposed to do something after, or something special? I used distilled water to soak the filter in before installing it in the jug.

The air bubbles will worth themselves out over time. Just keep running it regularly. The lamps looks really nice btw. Good job!
