<p>I don't have a preference but if the bulb has more voltage than the lamps ask for do not be afraid to use them the lamps ask for 120v if a bulb uses 125v go ahead and use it because it lasts longer uses less energy and doesn't burn as hot as the 120v bulbs do but stay with the wattage and type of bulb it asks for</p>

<p>just got an alert that the first lamp i ever had, the clear/purple midnight, is on craigslist for $5... might have to go check it out tomorrow ha! :)</p>

<p>Nice lamp. The color in the water is probably dye that has leaked from the wax. I don't know of any way to remove it without replacing the water. If it doesn't bother you too much it is probably just as well to leave it as is.</p>
