The rainbow lavas - 52 and Grande - anyone have one yet?

I see the rainbow Grande and 52 oz. are now on Amazon.com - I'd prefer to buy there because of their great return policy. See it here. See the 52oz. one here

I'd love to see one in person - anyone have one yet? I really wish Lava Lite would post ACTUAL PHOTOS instead of these stupid renderings...

Oh and here's another thought... that coating on the Grande glass I wonder will it hold up with use and time? And I doesn't seem like it has a dimmer witch I think it should for $120...Oh well.

Tim. There is no dimmer, you are correct.

Yup no dimmer, just the standard silver base. I don't think the $120 price is that unreasonable on this and the 50th Anniversary lamps. Both lamps likely cost a bit more to make with the respective "custom" elements (i.e. painted globe and embossed base) that don't come on a standard Grande. Also - what would Mathmos charge for a 250 ounce lamp?

I did try to purchase a Heritage base, but Susan didn't have any extras to sell. If I am unable to get one I will just paint the base black and add the Heritage Grande style dimmer. Paint and the dimmer is only about $10.

You are right Jim. But I still would like to have the dimmer but no big deal. I'm still gonna get one.

I just realized the pic on the box and the one on the amazon page have the colors reversed; purple to pink on one and pink to purple on the other (they're swapped). *sigh* I've never seen a company so goofy when it comes to their own marketing. And for eff's sake... quit with the digital renderings. Why can't they use actual photos? You can't tell me someone at Lava Lite doesn't have a decent camera... sheesh.

Qelle surpise.

Because they can't get them to flow right for a picture?

If I can get a pic of them, they can!
