I don't really collect rain lamps any more... but I suppose I do, if I find one of the models I really love. Here are the ones I like the most. Description in comments below.
I just found 2 large rain lamps by Creators. They are the swag 'Shower Lite' model. They both need extensive restoring. One I'm almost finished with. They're both different versions of the 3 Graces.
View full-size for detail. Info by numbers-- all lamps by Creators' Lamp Co. unless noted. All models made in both table and swag styles unless noted. Those marked * are lamps I really hope to find.
1-11: earliest style small model, metal end covers. All have vertical-only lines. Table and swag versions including:
No, I don't own these. Jim, the lamps shown are a tiny fraction of the models produced by Creators; these are simply the models I still want to find someday. Nearly all of these are the smallest sizes they made.
And right, Wiz - in the 60s and 70s, Lava was the parent company as "Lava-Simplex Internationale," with three firms: Lava Corp., Timette (clocks) and Simplex (cameras). In the 80s and 90s, Lava retained the Lava-Simplex name and became a division of Haggerty Enterprises along with Creators' (Shower-Lites) and Hobby Hill (picture lights - the cylindrical lamps you mount over a painting or inside a china cabinet).
I have the Rain lamp pictuered above # 8, "oriental lady holding a bowl of flowers" it appears to be in excellant condition if not mint condition. Does anybody know the value of it?
Where can you get replacement pumps for these? When I got mine the pump was brittle and broken. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It is the small chrome bottom and top with clear goddess lamp.
I've always had a serious liking for these lamps until I purchased one and noticed dust and pet hair stick to them like flies to glue strips so it was given away. I miss my rain lamp. When I was a kid my parents frequented a SIZZLER SteakHouse and they had several of these lamps throughout the restaurant. I could have cared less about SIZZLER'S Steak and Shrimp special and only wanted to tag along so I could these magical lamps again. Such wonderful memories. Always managed to keep me well behaved. Then I would get home and beg for something to eat because all my time was spent mesmerized. I also miss SIZZLER SteakHouse.

Oddly - the two rain lamps I own are conspicuously absent from the photo montage. Where's the love?

"Creators" was originally its own company, then later became a division of Haggerty.

I picked up a really cheap feeling rain lamp for $15 recently. These lamps are usually heavy, no?
