Something Interesting About Me:
Ask anyone I know about me, and they'd say I was probably born in the wrong era, and wrong planet. I have a natural undying love for anything involving 60's counterculture. Lava Lamps, Art Vans, Nature Communion, Eastern Philosophies, Psychedelic Folk Music, you name it. I'm also a fan of ethnic and cultural woodcarving, especially Polynesian tiki, which holds a close and dear place in my heart, after a wonderful visit to Kauai. I also enjoy other strange things such as surrealist art (SALVADOR DALI), Old Sci-fi and surreal TV (original twilight zone, original star trek, war of the worlds, those classic oldies), and pretty much anything deep rooted in the macabre.

I want to dedicate my existence to spiritual and intellectual pursuit of knowledge and the meta-materialistic aspects of life. I enjoy works of philosophy and scripture from all time periods and cultures (taoism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, etc,) as well as more contemporary existentialist literatures and classics. (John Milton, Faulkner, Steinbeck, etc.) Sci-fi / futurism and gothic / strange (Poe, Bradbury, Asimov, Niven, Tolkein, etc.), the like.

(Note on the above paragraph: Most of what I will write is done light-heartedly in a half-joking way :), I'm really not that serious of a person. Haha.)

Music is probably one of the biggest things in my life at the moment. I play the violin, mandolin, acoustic/electric guitar, little bit o clavier, ukulele, and have a true fascination with the Sitar and Indian/eastern music theory in general. Also think learning the theremin, medieval lute, some sort of harp would be pretty neat. As far as listening concerns, my likes expound upon a rather colorful range. Mostly pre-1990. in popular music (if it can still be called "Popular" today) I revere the genius of PINK FLOYD (every album and aspect of their music), led zeppelin, JETHRO TULL (absolutely amazing), jimi hendrix experience, Doors, Grateful dead, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey, Def Leppard, Queen, Queensryche, Dire Straits, And waaayyy to many more to name. Classical music as well. Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Mussorsky, Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, etc. Don't get much into newer material, I find it for the most part dry, tasteless, boring, and somewhat perverse and devoid of emotion and intellect. (then again, who am I to talk when I have def leppard and stuff on my list!)

Live Long and Prosper
Where I Live:
Planet Earth.......for now.
My First Lava Lamp was:
The first ones I ended up getting were knock-offs, then later I got one of the newer lava brand ones (new ones for the most part are uck), and since have been beginning a collection of the more older (better quality) models.

    welcome welcome welcome!
I too love sci-fi. i would recommend the author Stephen Baxter, check out the manifold series! its very hard sci-fi but brilliant.
For more whimsical sci-fi you cant beat douglas adams and the 5 hitchhiker trilogy books, and also the 2 books he wrote about a private detective which are: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and The long Dark Tea-time of the Soul.
    Hope you enjoy this site
