More changes here since this was taken. Photo soon.

If I find more of those liquor bottles, I'll probably make more "Spire" glitters. I won't fill any of them right up to the top - I like that some seems to have evaporated, it looks vintage.

See next photo for today's additions. The final display contains 31 lamps, all but two functional. I was incorrect about the old display: it had 28 in all, because I added four (Carlisle, Wizard, bullet glitter, Princess) but removed one (empty Windsor) The wall heater, just to the left of the photo (behind the old gas heater, which is just for display) is shut off while these are running!

Yep, it's cold here and I leave the window open when they're all on. The room was actually rewired with new walls put up - a bank of eight switches by the door control switched outlets all over. The grapes came from a craft store's fake flowers area. Might have to try a big craft store, or check a few. Originally, the Decorator was sold empty, so put whatever you like in it. The other one, down front, has a plastic flower ring with big yellow and orange dasies that remind me of the white one on the old Monsanto green plastic doormats!

That green glitter at bottom right? What, you've never seen one of those? That's an uber-rare Spire series 300 by Starbright Lighting, circa 1967, in the rare green color...

...did you believe that at all? It's an old liquor bottle (I think - marked "Federal law prohibits sale or reuse of this bottle" which I assume is liquor bottle markings, I think it held whiskey) Bottle screws into the base, and base/cap are gold-sprayed black plastic. I filled it with new glitter contents, green with transparent irridescent squares, which I normally hate but think look somehow "authentic" here. I drilled a tiny hole in the base and wired in a 7-watt bulb, with an aluminum foil reflector cone around it.

Only other oddballs are two Florence Art oil glitters, a large and a small brass column (with medium and dark blue liquid, respectively) an Enchantress Glitterlite, with "gold" liquid, a Hot Rock silver glitter, and a Natural Wonders dimmable "Volcano" chrome lava. Nearly forgot the odd yellow/green bottle, middle lower left. Found at a thrift store (another liquor bottle?) and filled with lava by me, I found it fits flawlessly on any cone base, 32 oz. or any 52 oz. style, and doesn't wobble, like a 52 oz. does on a 32 base, or a 32 in a Century base.

The rest should be identifiable.

The Mystique (far left) and French oval (far right) are not lit because they're empty. Anyone got some good glitter fill for 'em?

Very nice display, I like all the older models in there, they look so cool.

I have a question for you. Where did you find the fruit for the squiggle decorator? I'm wanting to basically do the same thing with mine, but I want mine to look good like yours. Could give me any tips, or could I get a close up pic or your decorator? Thanks much!!

A rebuild of one of my displays. A lot cleaner and, in my opinion, better - gone are the extra globes and extra bases; gone, too, is the rickety little table, which at one time helf my display of old doorbell buttons. A closeout find on both light bulbs and used power strips (a dollar each on the latter!) aided me in this. 29 complete lamps, 23 of them working - eventually, all lamps in the display will be functional. Windsor and French glitter need refills first. There were a few compromises here, such as swapping out the globes in the Americana and Midnight Century (the other way around put three reds front-and-center, which was too much) Comments, questions? Look through my other photos - one has a "before" shot of this corner in the background.

Change: The display now totals 31 lamps, 25 of then functional. My Princess hangs above the display, and a modified Carlisle (sprayed dayglo orange base, with new white/orange globe and new cap, also sprayed orange) down front, between the Midnight Century and Americana. Americana is now on a short riser. Photo to come...
