Comment by Erin on January 22, 2012 at 3:20pm: Ah, I can see a non-collector not really knowing what to look for in a lamp. I am happy to hear you're getting a refund. It's really hard to buy lava lamps online sometimes. I've been burned a few times with things like bubbly flow, stuff in lava, etc. Non-collectors don't think to look for stuff like that.

The seller told me bought a job lot of lamps from a collector, run the ones he wanted which were fine and put the rest up for auction assuming they would be ok. without testing them !!!

TBH from the exchange of emails we've had he does come across an honest well meaning guy, with good feedback and I would buy from him again as long as he runs the bloody things before putting them up !

But they are none of the above. They are both far from crystal clear, the flow (if you can call it that) is awfull, just one or two repetative blobs from the red one, and the wax is very opaque and does'nt glow at all. I,m sure its not original formula. The yellow sends up one blob about every 3mins or so and the wax is translucent almost compleatly see throu. Again it cant be original. Both the seals had been broken on the bottles and the screw caps came of with no effort at all !!!

However the seller is being very reasonable and came up with a very plausable excuse. And has offered me a full refund, its just so goddam dissapointing....buyer beware !
