One on the left I just obtained (lucky BIN on eBay) and still needs to clear a little. One on the right I also scored on a lucky BIN on eBay - bottle only. The one on the right had to be boiled to get the lava back together. Both are in good shape! :)

LOL I do love these two - a lot. They are really dark, but neat. When you break into my house, don't steal the 52oz. one I have, too. ;)
I've got to get one of those!
(When I break into your house, I think I'll steal the one on the right. I'd steal both, but... there's no need to be greedy. ;))
That's an answer we'll never get. I'm guessing since their production is in China, they don't want them knowing the formula since they have no one on site and can't keep strict control over it.
Yes they can, the more you run them the better they get. The China ones don't do that. That's why I don't understand why they don't use the American formula. If it costs more - just up your prices? $49.99 per lamp worked for over 30 years.
All mine sit upright and do get ran on occasion. I swap them out at work and at home. :) I'd keep running it - US Lava Lites can correct themselves.
I hear ya. I, too, have a storage problem. We have a very small house. Most of my lamps are in the basement and aren't run most of the time. I'm keeping them safe. :)
What happened to it Matt?
