A cookie jar I found at a Thrift Store. It was chipped and in bad repair. I fixed the chips with Bondo and repainted it. I added a dimmer and there it is......

I use hand held grinder with a diamond blade. Sometimes I use carbide. It's a crap shoot. Sometimes a glass cutter.

Oh I'm sure, do you know how many cool vases or jars would work amazingly for lamps just have to balls to cut them lol well keep up the good customs. What did you use to cut it besides a steady hand? and how did you go about preparing for it?

The real trick was cutting the ceramic top out for the cone to fit in. There was not a hole in the top. I almost broke it about 6 times. While I was cutting it, I had my 16 year old son holding it, a hot ceramic chip went in his eye...close one. Safety First !
