Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Original fluids, swapped to Heritage base. Glitter flows properly and color is quite the peach but the silvering on the flakes has seen better days.

Soon to post reveal of this beauts new jewels!

Side note: Does anyone know the symptoms of an overheating glitter lamp? I have searched the forums and no one seems to mention specific symptoms of an overheat. I am wondering if the glitter either stays up top or settles to the bottom? After about 5 hours on full blast, perfect dazzle turned to most of the flakes hanging out on the bottom of the globe. Turned the dimmer down a bit and swirled the globe causing them all to start dancing upwards again.

Your lamps always look magnificent!  I love your photographic technique, too.

Thank you Pete! Each time I run it there seems to be a boost of life to the glitter. Maybe I am crazy but the globe is slowly getting shinier! I have thought of popping it for a refill from Kirk, for certain once it shows signs of laziness.

Very nice Nick... I would be tempted to refill with Kirks 'holo' glitter!  :)

The base it is on in the picture won't be painted, it is a perfect condition Heritage. The base it came with is silver, still in the box.  I am feeling this idea of white, that may be what happens to her, thanks! Yea, I am final answering that the globe is as it should be, having not seen a grande glitter I was comparing it to the small soldiers.

Agreed with Keith, it is one of those Critter.  Apparently a few of them were junk as J here on OG bought three and he is not happy at all, guess I lucked out.

It is cool on start up, it sends a very thin channel of glitter directly up the center of the globe that fans out and cascades back down as it hits the top.

I think that is one of the grande glitters I saw in person in Forney TX a week or so back. The guy had several pink and purple for sale. I did not bite (glitter ain't my thing) but drove to the shop after seeing an ad on ebay. Nice shop for sure.
