Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

New goo kit on my Grand. Had to add epsom salts to get it to act right, as without it would only make a high dome that would burp out little balls. Used MagmaTower surf exclusively, at the rec. rate of 10ml/qt. Did use distilled this time, jus for grins...

Thanks, Todd!  You know, I'm really bad about being not very scientific in my approach to my lamps, which is why I have to say, I really don't know.  Sorry!  But, I can tell you how I did it...I filled an 8oz. bottle about 1/3 of the way up with epsom salts, then the rest of the way up with super hot water.  Put the lid on and shook it till it dissolved, then I'd say I gave 3 or 4 quick pours from that bottle straight into the operating lamp.  I measured for ya, and I'd say one of my "pours" equals about a tablespoon.  I never really get too worried about the salt quantity since I can always remove liquid and replace with water if I get too much.  And indeed, I did exactly that with this lamp...ended up siphoning out about 2 cups of liquid then refilled with my surf/distilled water solution.  It made a huge difference, as without the salt the show was just sad little one inch balls from a quite unattractive pointy dome at the bottom...never had one turn out quite like that before...

Thanks Keith & Critter!  Critter, I was planning for it to be yellow, but it looks so good with the colors of my room, I'm jus going to leave it white.  For now.  lol
