Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

This disk was thought to have been broken, tucked away in the closet. Dusted it off today, plugged it in and gave it a pat on the back and IT POPPED ON!!!

I could have sworn the back transformer separated from the pane which should have rendered it useless if air got into the mix, right?

Happy day!! Now to find the little rubber feet....

Rich, it is real cool to set it to low output/high sound sensitivity.  It almost becomes a visual equalizer of whatever sounds it picks up!

Super custom Luminglass Joanne!  Post a picture if you get it all suited up!

Yes, the whole edge of these things are rather scary and unfinished.  You could cut yourself if you ran your hand around them quick enough. Mine even has a tiny chip in one spot, SERRATED LUMINGLASS!

OOO i like that ,I think i can get uv tubing !

Comment by VOXul on March 3, 2014 at 8:57pm

That is brilliant! It does have that unfinished edge and it is like 5 ply laminated glass, could definitely cut you. Our Lumins are going to be ultra custom and awesome!  That clear tubing could be black light reactive too...

I was thinking of getting some 1/4" clear tubing and cutting a lengthwise split and slipping it over the edge all the way around . that would cover all the way around and no sharp edge .

Ha ha damn cats gotta love em !

HAHA, that would be what would have happened, then a cat come over to bat them around and potentially use them as litter. I bet the bouncy ball thing will work!  They may even clamp on better as I remember the stock ones would like to slip and cause the disc edge to just rest on the table anyways!

I was going to get some of the bouncy balls from a kids quarter machine !
