Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Milway of Milwaukee catalog, 1967, showing seamless satin copper Century base, no feet on tray... and a glossy black cap!? Look closely at the lava; that's the 1965-only, liquid-when-cold formula in action! It's transparent and bubbly.

I sure do wonder, Ben. Or how many are still in the box in peoples' closets or attics, unwanted wedding or other gifts. "What is it? Oh, a... lava lamp... very, uh, nice... Put it in the hall closet, Herb."

I'd like to hope that a few churches out there have a Meditation model sitting in a closet, waiting to be unearthed.

It makes you wonder how many great lamps ended up in garbage dumps over the years.  Where did they all go?

Weird!!!

So weird that no one's come across one of these bases in all these years.

I'm 100% certain that they were produced at least through 1965, possibly as late as 66 or 67, though I suspect the two-piece copper bases arrived in 66 along with solid wax lava. By the early 70s, brass one-piece bases with a seam were in.

I've never seen one ever. Did these even go to production? This must be the rarest of the rare.

Never! One user we had claimed to have one, but didn't answer requests to see it and finally left.

Now that's interesting! Have you ever seen one of these bases in real life Jonas?
