I think that about sums up the adventure thus far! Flipping around, getting tossed about all while staying in the same place.

You'll have to have your ashes molded with plastic into dolphins

Brad- The leak had been tamed on the plug area but shows to still be leaking slightly. The bigger problem presented after a day of being completely full and setup. One of the end caps either split from the vessel or had always leaked but only under full conditions. Lifted it from the base after a day of work and the thing almost slipped out of my hands as the end was coated in oil. Looking at that end cap weld it does look like half of the disc became separated from the main vessel, either by the old owner dropping it or while it was in shipping to me. Not sure how this thing came unglued since it is actually a plastic weld but... Something happened to the end cap to show signs of a gap between the two pieces. While it is not a wide open seam on the end it is not crystal clear as acrylic would be when properly bonded to another sheet. I was referred to the plastic weld master in Colorado so I will see what his thoughts are soon.

Things going for me so far is that I have the proper amount of fluids and the vessel is in one piece even though it leaks. I suppose we wait to see what the plastics guy says. Tempted to see if he can cut out that cracky piece of the air dam and plunk down a new section, there has to be a more affordable fix than all new castings.

Keith- My situation is worlds better than that devout fan! Thanks for the laughs!

Carol- I am keeping my patience at a good level. I took a big step back and facepalmed once I experienced the temptation to knock that acrylic to the ground. I tell ya, if this thing is waving by the time I am old and gone, you tell whomever is in charge to put my ashes in this thing, turn it on and never turn it off!

Yeah Vox, don't get like me, shredding lava stirring it with coat hangers and shaking !!!!  Or throwing all kinds of nasty metal hardware in just to see a blob float up, hahaahaa!!!  I literally have 3 jugs of shredded lava that i have no clue what to do with.  The water is already mixed with the goo so maybe i can use it for slurpees in the summertime (just kidding of course)......yea, just put it aside, take a deep breath, pray to the lava gods and a solution will come your way eventually!!!!!

This is a day late, but your bad day was a Monday:

good luck to you.  i understand the situation you're in and it sucks.  does it leak less than before?  if so, that's progress for sure.  do you leak test it with water before placing the fluids back in?

I know Jim! Kickstarter or GoFundMe would be excellent avenues to get a boost account to roll out with! I cannot believe how much and how fast that Oatmeal guy made off his exploding cat game! Last I saw he was nearing 8 million in backed funds, fookin insane at 9mil! I know collectors pay premiums for the good stuff, but buy enough product to knock the prices down and more of the market can pony up for it too. I would love to own a Hughes replacement vessel, and it is priced well along materials costs and time spent in the lab, but there is only so much money in the fun gadget budget.

One day this machine will wave Carol, it tipped my frustration limit last night however. I don't want my enjoyment and desire for the thing to become overshadowed with frustration and anger. That turns it into a hassle more than a passion and last night I started feeling hassled. Stay tuned, I will just put the damn water bottle that is filled with the fluid on the base if I have to!

I personally wish Torrey would turn to Kickstarter to bankroll his large format waves.  I know... good things come to those who wait... yap yap yap.  If a card game featuring exploding kittens can make nearly $9,000,000, Torrey should be able to raise some capital quickly.  Torrey told me to expect large format 30" - 48" waves within a year.  I would prefer TOMORROW.
