Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Detaches from coil and wax goes to top and sticks. The wax in the bottom of globe fell when I took it off the base, it was at top also.

Yes, that it does, Lala... :-)   But, all is not lost.   I've been fooling with it since last Friday and it's still bad, but working better on a dimmed 60W (which it takes to melt the wax) and on my Midnight Century base.  If and when it gets broken in, I'll try it back on the Heritage base it should be on.   The new base does not get hot enough to melt the wax, and it does not need the dimmer with a 40w or 60w bulb.   Go figure?

And don't forget the dreaded "newbie buy everything" stage!   I bought lamps I wish I hadn't bought.  I think my little nieces and nephews are gonna get lava for Christmas this year to free up some space.  LOL

Yes, the dreaded display dilemma.  So many lamps, so little space.

Keith, problem is, it "won't cycle" since it doesn't flow.  I'm gonna let this higher wattage bulb run in it for a while today, but don't have much hope. Yep, there is light at the end of the tunnel.    A refund for this Century would help on the price of the Pink Grande!!!  ;-)   Don't know where I'm even going to put the Green Grande though, let alone a possible Pink, as the mantle is just a "temporary" display right now.   ;-)

I have bought used lamps that did the same thing that sorted out with cycling.  But that's not what you expect when you buy a new lamp.  If you like the colors etc. you can try cycling, but if you don't or if you're just fed up return it.  I know you were disappointed that the base is gold-tone instead of copper.

Oh, if you return it,  get the PINK! ;)

Keith, I can run it for one hour and it spikes straight to the top, detaching from the coil as it goes and "stays" there and sticks to the sides and top.  There is no flow at all.  About a teaspoonful of wax melts in the bottom and floats around.  It's unfortunately---crap.

I have a 60 watt bulb on full blast in it now, and then dimmed it a bit, and it does the exact same thing.  Blah.  I thought a bit more heat might help, since it does not want to "melt" completely.  Just stick.   No dice.  Nothing works.

I would run it 8 hours a day for a week.  If it doesn't sort itself out then return it.

I've had it running at full blast for two days, Rodrigo.  I mean last night till late and then today.  I did turn if off late last night.   This is what I got on the 2nd run today.  Also detaches from coil and all wax spikes to the very top of the globe and stays and does not fully melt.   I don't know what to do with it.
