I did. I received it and sent it back already. It was very boring and not very bright. Far less impressive than the tornado lamp. For $14 shipped, it wasn't even worth keeping. Lava Lite's big problem here is the imaging and product descriptions on their website and amazon.com's. I fixed one of them via amazon.com's product page listing, but their product renderings are just horrible. With this company and these lamps - always vote with your pocketbook and return anything that is less than satisfactory. I wish I hadn't bought so many of their new lamps - they are mostly shit. Now, I can't return them and I can't sell them. There's only so many "parts" lamps you can keep around.

Erin, did you get the Vortex lamp yet?  Did you order it?  I was wondering what the difference would be...

Well, I have contacted Susan at LL about the white flakes in the lamp vs. glitter and I haven't heard back. It's been over five days now. I may just return the lamp since I'm not getting a response. Here's a picture of the fluff. Susan tells me it's not supposed to have fluff, but glitter.

I know like how are you supposed to know what the darn lamp even looks like??  Are they too cheap to pay to hire someone in that department??  I'd rather have someone draw a picture, probably look closer then what they have on there, lololol!!!!

I don't do lamps under 32oz. ever. They just never work right. And yes, those digital renderings are horrible! They really need someone in their marketing department to properly market these things and take REAL photos of these lamps and put them on their packaging.

My daughter and I made a Walmart run and they had them there for 20 bucks Ithink.  I really wanted to buy one, but was like "oh god, what to do, what to do".  Those stupid photo shopped pics they put on those tubes aren't helping them in the sales department, I can tell them that, lol!!!  They also had a ton of 20 oz classics too.  I saw a neon green one that I wanted to pick up, but then was like, "what's the sense"?  I'm probably going to end up goo kitting it anyway, so mine as well wait for a bigger globe, lol!!!  Even the kits don't really flow right in those smaller globes.

Thanks Carol. :) For the price I paid for this one, I'd say it's worth it. I can't see spending much more on one though. And it would awesome if they were bigger and didn't have such a boring base/cap - maybe I'll paint this one!

I was thinking about getting one of these a few weeks ago, but wasn't sure how they looked, lol!!!  I was seriously going to post something on here like asking are they nice?  lol!!!  Can't wait to see the video!!!  You always take such nice pics Erin!!

The funnel does stay somewhat in the center. I'll get a video soon... although even the video doesn't do the lamp justice... it's hard to film.

That is pretty cool! Does the funnel move around a good amount or does it stay pretty centered? Perhaps some video on this one
