Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Having a hard time finding out what my lamp is... Flow problems...

At a little less than 16.5 inches tall, and the globe only slightly wider than the base (approximately 4 inches) I'm not sure if this is a 20 oz, or a 32 oz globe... If I was guessing I would think it's a china 32oz lamp. silver streak? I'm just not sure it was given to me. It also seems to have trouble flowing... during the warm up time some of the goo heats and moves to the top of the globe and the remainder of the goo stays at the bottom of the globe just above the coil and sits there for an hour or more before it moves down into the coil and starts flowing. Anyone with some insight into this problem could help me alot, I'm a bit afraid to start popping the top off of my lamp, and screwing with the filler...

It does have a LavaLite logo on a "pop bottle" type cap, the numbers are VERY faint and hard to read, it is on right now, but after it cools off I'll get a good light and try to read the numbers... Don't know if the cloudiness is an issue that will go away with time, but it annoys me that it's not crystal clear liquid. I'll post a pic here...

ok, the timer it's on is set to shut it off in an hour, once it's cool I'll show pics of the working bits, I'll take a pic of it warmed up right now...

as a side note, when I got it I suppose it had been shaken up while warm. it is looking MUCH better now than it did.

the files are Lamp light only, flash, and off camera lighting. the different lighting is so you can see how the liquid and goo look under different light.

the bulb is a frosted bulb. 40W...
Looks like a 32oz. It also does not look like it's in a safe spot either. Might want to fix that :(
As you can see in this pic, the lamp is up high in a low traffic corner. The shelf it's sitting on is attached securely to the wall. With my limited space, it's the safest place... Soon I'll be moving to another house and there will be room for this lamp and the many more I plan on aquiring...

oops
i don't know if i've ever paid attention to clear vs frosted bulbs.
guess i'll do that after work...
