I'm still digging that red Wiz up there!!!  I may have to xmas gift myself that one!!!  If they even still have it in stock by then....

I will post the three Heritage lamps Patrick is getting rid of.  I'm pretty sure a red wizard was one of them.  These will be nice Heritage lamps as well, as I was with Patrick when we picked these up in person from Lava Lite HQ.

I don't personally feel its the holes in the base.  I suspect a socket height issue.  I created two Neon Grandes before the Heritage line came out.  Both used Grande bases and both required a socket extender.  I think the Neon was is likely a bit harder and has a higher melt point.  My homegrown Neon Grandes warm up in about 25% of the time that my Heritage Grande heats up in.

It's probably because of the holes in the base, the delay in warm up time????  Am I correct?  I don't know though, my Wiz heats up quick and overheats.  Then again, the way they set the bulb socket, the darn thing sits right on the bulb.  Had to go from a 40 back to a 25 watt in it once I got it flowing again.  It sat under a bed for a lot of years...needed that 40 watt boost, now it's flowing nicely.  It is with 4 other siblings though, so the heat they throw off helps the wiz with the 25 watt bulb cook nicely!!

Jim, you just struck a cord with the neon wax!!!  I have a "home grown" 52 oz blue/white and a 52 oz LL Neon green in my son's room.  I crank them both up together.  The homegrown is going in no time, but the neon LL takes another few hours.  Now mind you the mt goo has a very low melting point IMG, but still, my lamps will be goo'ing way b4 the neon.  And that's just on a regular base.

thank you guys for all of your information so far! I'm glad that people are able to help me out!

I'm sorry if i don't post much on the boards, im more of a chat type of person

Heads up. Overstock.com has the neon grandes on sale for $76 and $79 right now. There are coupons out there for first time customers too (10%). Plus free shipping! Quite the deal...

I have such trust issues, BUT it would be fun to kit a grande!!! Income tax refund is around the corner!! Lol!!
Thanks!

Can you sale me that starship grande in the back of the picture? That's what I really want. Would pay big money for one. Let me know PayPal ready.
