Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Scored this on eBay France last month. I have one very similar to this, featuring an oval shaped window. This particular French design pictured here was later copied and manufactured by Lava Simplex in the U.S. where it was sold as a Continental model Gemlite. I considered doing a refill with a goo kit, but I decided glitter would look best. I dumped the old glitter contents which were losing their silver coating and refilled it with the contents from yet another vintage Fantasia glitter which I prefer since they contain the old fast moving formula and only need a small amount of heat from a 15 watt bulb to flow. Fantasia glitter flakes are nice and large and never seem to lose their silver coating. The nice thing about this lamp is the glitter flows in a circular pattern.

I had about 4 Fantasia tube shaped glitters lying around. 2 I found at thrift stores for a couple bucks, the others from eBay a few years ago. Yes I like to keep the empty ones. I'm already planning a goo project with the one I just emptied.

Ovals have a great circular glitter flow! Where do you find the Fantasias, and do you keep 'em and fill 'em with goo I hope?
