Just got new Mathmos lamps from UK. What do I do about different plugs??

My First Lava Lamp was:: My Father got one when they first came out in the early sixties. It was orange and I would watch it,trying to figure out how it worked. Of course back then, nobody knew the right way to treat them . My younger sister tried to grab it while it was on and found out it was hot and knocked it over and that pretty much started the downward slide in it's performance from then on. I obviously wish I still had it but I don't know what it's fate was.
