Profile Information

Something Interesting About Me:
There's not a lot to tell, really
I'd like to say I have an exciting job, drive a fast and/or rare car and my time is my own
Reality is, I work in IT, and have been with the same company since 1999
I drive a Toyota Corolla and my time is anything but my own

I am married and have a baby daughter (which may help explain a couple of the above comments :) )

I have a interest (to some degree) in most things electro-mechanical, and was always quick to take stuff apart and put it back together (not always to the same standard as it was originally)

I also list photography as my main passion (apart from my family), and and anything with wings is fair game for being photographed

As far as Lava Lamps are concerned, I remember staring at a neighbour's for hours when I was little
I remember it as being silver based, bullet shaped with a silver 'hat', yellow or orange liquid and red or white goo
Since then I was hooked, but have never been able to buy one
I have 'itchy feet', and was never living in the same place long, so tried to keep things that could be broken in a move to a minimum, but I think now is finally the time
And tonight I discovered they not only come mains and USB powered, but tea light too
I guess keep watching this space...
Where I Live:
Sydney, Australia
My First Lava Lamp was:
yet to buy, always fascinated
And getting more so by the day...

Hey Paul, thanks for your input, it's great to have you here. We do have a small number of members from 'Down Under', always a pleasure to welcome everyone to this international site. Do keep us updated on your interests with stories and pics. You have some interesting lamps in Oz, including one which I think is hardly available anywhere else. Bohdan has one but i'm not sure of the name.

G'Day Paul and a warm welcome to Oozing Goo the lava lamp syndicate. Why not tell us more about yourself and your interest in the lava lamp scene. It would be nice to know. With over 2100 worldwide members here, you're bound to get any assistance you may need on various lava lamp issues/queries and of course, do check out some of the great lava lamp collections on display here and some great pictures/videos too. There's always plenty of other cool stuff on other funky lighting like glitter lamps and fiber optic lamps as well. Why not start or contribute towards one of the (usually lava lamp related) discussions here too.

Oh yes, and don't forget the chat function to interact with your fellow lava lamp fans here as well!

Kind regards

Hi Paul:

Welcome to the Goo! Hope you make some nice friends and learn a lot about lava. Get yourself an older Lava Lite lamp if you can or either a Mathmos. Both are great. I'd stay away from the newer Lava World stuff for now. Their formula just isn't what it should be.
