- Got into lava lamps because of my passion for vintage audio equipment and records from the 1960's and 1970's. Have collected seven lava lamps from thrift stores, including some very nice larger vintage lamps. Three are working perfectly, one is cloudy, the others just sit with a lump of goo at the bottom!

- My First Lava Lamp was:
- A nice all black vintage lamp, clear with red wax, very active. My favorite is a later design red wax with purple liquid and silver base/cap. I have a couple of large, perforated base lamps, one gold, dark red wax, murky but might be orange liquid, the other black base/cap, purple liquid, yellow wax - VERY active!
