Jul 28, 2014 Neon Green after Fluid Change

I'm impressed with the flow after the fluid change. It will calm down though after a few runs.

Great color and really nice flow.

Running good Carol!  You got the lava hacks down, the color combo gives me a Fallout feel, that lamp would be in the vault for sure!

I recently received a '75 Brass Coachlight as a gift for some freelance design work. It currently looks like a strawberry milkshake but each run seems to be bringing it back to clear. Flow is delicious and almost drooley, only lava heads would see the desirability in that statement

I think I need to crack open a '74 Century though The master fluid has cleared up but there are some demon chunks in the wax, I think the drain and wax boil might fix that one up.  I have yet to do any tinkering with fluids and their respective properties.

Just to let you guys know, this green lamp did haze up again.  I'm thinking it's the dish liquid, but not sure.  Could it be the salt?  I wish I would have had some goo kit surf when I attempted this.  This was definitely my experiment lamp.  I wanted to just get a feel of cracking open a lamp and playing before I actually received my goo kit.  As a matter of fact i'm waiting for my goo kit pour to harden as we speak!!  I want to fire it up and color it!!  Can't wait!!

OK back to the green neon fluid change.  Yes, it hazed up, BUT, my 16 year old son will NOT let me regoo it.  He says it's his alien lamp.  He is in love with the flow and doesn't give a hoot if it's hazy so what can I say.  Me on the other hand can't look at it much.  I'll take some shots of it tonite and you will see what I mean.  You know I can't leave well enough alone!!!  I totally messed up my purple neon.  In the vids it was doing the big blob flow.  Boring!!  Then it seemed to be hazing up again, so I added more dish liquid and REALLY turned it into ummm, well, can you say puke???  lol!!  I'm working on regoo'ing that as we speak.

Vox, I have done the wax boil and it did help on both of my lamps that turned into chunks while I was fluid playing.  I found that that is a one time deal.  After I tried it a second time, I had a bunch of foamy I don't know what that even though it solidified ok, it still was cooked!!!  I dumped it!!

OH, also, I found an older thread on here that someone posted that said they thought using the dish liquid/salt always caused their lamps to recloud up and so they ordered the SLES and used that and they have been running their lamps for days and so far no reclouding.  Then the thread ended so I don't know.  To play it safe, I would probably opt for the SLES over the dish liquid and salt because in my experience I ended up dumping them and buying a goo kit.

My lamps that I tried a liquid redo on all clouded up, also.. I used miracle bubbles and Epsom salts for the liquid, and of course just water from the sink.

Ian, I even paid a buck a gallon for distilled water, tried Celtic Seal Salt which is pure and organic, then tried Epson Salt, dish liquid, then figured it was that clouding it up, then tried miracle bubbles.....omg, mine didn't only cloud up, that's an understatement.....mine looked like someone had a bad night of eating and drinking and let loose in the globe, ewwww gross, I know, but that's what it looked like!!!  I wanted to take pics, but was too embarrassed/!!!  So, finally broke into the bank and ordered a goo kit.  I'm waiting as we speak for full flow so I can color my work of art, lol!!!
