I'll agree, Sir Keith, a "very" good year!   Now I might have to name it KK for both Kirk and you!!  :-)  I would love to find another in a lovely color.  Ah oh, Trev's "doubles" are rubbing off on me.  Not only OCD but obsessed!!!!  :-O

It was born the year I turned 16,  a good year!

The years are "flying by."  Oh well.  Now I know this lamp's name is Kirk, it was born the year you graduated!  :-)

Ahh... 1979.  A very good year - the year I graduated from high school!  It doesn't seem that long ago, really...

I try to look for the best bargain, but end up in a bidding war, but when I hit my limit, I stop.  Let em have it.  This one is "not" the one on there now that has a BIN price of well over $100.00.   My first three or four lamps were free, a friend gave them to me.  One was a purple/yellow black base Wizard lava.  I had no idea what it was, but  loved it. It still has some of the best flow of any lamp I have.   When I saw the Wizzies in glitter, I have to have them all. LOL

I doubt if you overpaid, I always look for the best bargain, I think I only have 2 lamps that I paid more that $40 for and the most I have paid is $45.  Most of my lamps have cost less than $10, except for the new ones.

LOL, Keith, then I overspent a bit!  But the screw cap comes off easily and is perfect, no cracks, dings or paint loss.  It has one teeny pinhead ding on the base, but I can get that out.  I had never seen a cap like this.  I like em too, so I guess I'm old school.  :-)

Ahh, I would love to have a few Carlisle lamps!  I'm waiting to find my first one.  I like these better than the Wizard series, probably because of the screw top (yeah, I'm old school)  If I find one locally I might be tempted to spend more than normal, say $40.00 or so. lol
