Mathmos VS Lava Brand

Ok, I have just found out about the company Mathmos and ya, those lamps look realy nice. expensive but nice. so, what is the real difference between mathmos and lava? is mathmos running Lava out? or is it just a matter of prefferance? I know most motion style lamps are crap cause I have had friends say many different malfunctions of most knockoffs soooooo then I find mathmos. looks like they have higher quality than lava does, so if someone can shed light on this company, that would be most healpful.

ugh, there are two lava brands? but was wondering what the scoop is on mathmos, are they good or not and what are some background info on mathmos.

wow, those are sweet! since they are made in england do you have to have a conversion plug for them to work here or are they the same plugs as the usa?
