A recent acquisition...

I was browsing LetGo a couple of weeks ago and I finally got to pick up a pretty special lamp up today.

A Colossus! This is, by far, the most excited I have ever been to get a lamp! I think I have officially become obsessed.  It is true what other Colossus owners say: It is much larger in person. I chuckle to myself every time I look at it because I still cannot grasp the fact this lamp is in my possession. I'm currently wait for the lamp to reach room temp before I run it. I also need to find a better bulb as I only have a 90 watt halogen flood in the base now.

They were asking 200, but I got them to do 175. It was an amazing deal

That's the best deal ever on a Colossus.  Similarly, I had a chance of an Ebay buy it now, £200, collection only (of course) on one this side of the pond (UK, about five years ago) where they're pretty rare. As the say, he who hesitates.... I missed out due to weighing up the pros and cons. There were no Cons. Should have just hit that button!

So far, I have gotten all my best lava lamps on letgo whether for parts or for use.

$200. I thought it was a typo when I saw the listing, too! The seller actually used to work for Lava Lite a few years ago and that surprised me since he knew the original value. He said this one was just sitting around and he already had 2 other Colossi.
