Has anyone had good luck opening up a 1973 Century globe? Mine has a rusty wire in the bottom,also  how do I fix the rust in the inside ,bottom of my bases most of my older ones have rust in the bottom,My guess it is from moisture.

yea...use caution removing the cap..I have broke 2 centurys while trying to open them up...If you break the cap the lamp is good for the trash!
