Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago. It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends).
It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps. I was bowled over by videos of the Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite. I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:
We have a special promo on the Colossus for serious buyers. This will be the last time the Colossus will be seen.
Please see attached promo sheet with pricing included.
If you are interested please contact on my direct line at 630-496-6663.
Best regards,

Sadly these prices are outside of my discretionary funds, even though they include shipping. I post it in hopes that someone here may be interested.

I made a new plan in my journey to get a colossus some day.. Iam planing to go to the states with my girlfriend and pick one up my self sometime in the future .. One of my life goals is to own such a lamp :P
Ben, when I spoke to Susan on 3-13-13 there were only 4 Colossus left. B/Y only. Silver or Faux Wood only.
As, Choda Boy's pic shows the Faux Wood was made for the B/Y if I do say so myself.
Hard to choose between Jedi vs Sith. LOL
I also see, I am not the only obsessed Star Wars fan as well! The lamps look great Choda.
lol

Ben,
My Grande B/Y is doing the same thing. Yet my Grande P/P is running smoothly. Room temp 68. I have them both side by side sitting on the floor. Not sure what the problem is. Strange. I have a classic P/P that keeps coming off the coil. causing it to lay partly exposed on the side of the globe. Might give it slight shaking to try to fix the classic.
Have a great night everyone. I'm gonna try to post some pics of my collection this week. I know I have been drooling over a lot of the collections I've seen on here.
Some of my friends find it strange the love I have for Lava Lamps.
They think it's not normal for an adult to be collecting what they think is a hippie thing. LOL
What they don't realize is they are the ones that aren't normal. Last time I checked in the mirror I still had long hair, and that qualifies me as a hippie. :)
Haha, too funny :) Sounds like the freight guy who delivered my Colossus. "Don't you know Lava Lamps went out in the seventies?" I just smiled and said, no man they didn't. XD

I just reread all 62 pages of this thread from start to finish. I have been acting like a mad scientist for weeks trying to dial in this purple/yellow of mine. I've gotten frustrated. I just emailed Susan with my woes and what I've done trying to fix it. As Al has said, this is simply too much money to fiddle around this much, for this much disappointment. I've gotten better performance from a $20 lamp at Spencers. :-(
