Crestworth Cap

Hi all, could any one please tell me if they have had any success in removing the plastic cap on a Crestworth Astro bottle. I won a Crestworth  Astro red blue off ebay but the wax looks like it is breaking down. There are whiteish deposits under the wax and it's beginning to crumble. The blue liquid is lighter than the red blue that Mathmos did and I would like to change the wax if I can remove the cap.
