Crystal Skull Lamp

I know everyone here has seen the ABSOLUT VODKA bottle lamp, BUT, has anyone made a lamp using Dan Ackroyd's new line of vodka called Crystal Head vodka bottle? Seeing how I screwed up a cheap lava lamp earlier today (yep, I bought a cheapo and in my haste poured boiling water over the solidified wax to speed up the process but ended up cracking the glass...like you would!!!...Grrr,...) Anyhow, i now have a base to try making a Skull lamp out of. I'll post pics IF and WHEN I succeed.

Here's a better picture of what it MIGHT actually look like once completed. I put the bottle on the spare base I have and light it up. Pretty cool for sure!

Holy cow that's expensive!!! The stuff (vodka) is made in my province (Newfoundland) and costs $49.99 (Cdn) for the bottle and box full and unopened. Hmmmm, I bet I can make a few bucks selling them on Ebay as well. See if you can cancel the transaction and I'll sell you one at cost plus whatever it costs to ship.

Holy cow that was quick! Red lava will look awesome! I can't wait to see the pics to see what I can end up with at the ned of it all.

I'm off to the U.S. next week so hopefully I'll score a few new Lava Lamps while I'm over there to bring back here to Newfoundland!

Drat!!!! You all beat me to it! As soon as I saw one of these I wanted one to make a lamp. The only thing holding me back was the $70. They are not available in ABC stores in my state, so I would have to get it from e-bay or somewhere. I have been trying to get my mitts on one of these bottles since Halloween!! Please post pictues of the lamp as you work on it. I shall live vicariously through your project.

I have a friend of a friend (yeah I know, the famous FOAF scenario...lol) who knows the production supervisor (apparently) at the warehouse/plant where this vodka is made and I'll ask him what the chances are of scoring a few empty bottles. Even if I have to pay a small fee for them, they may be worthwhile to all the enthusiast out here who want to try the skull flowing lamp. As soon as I hear anything I'll post it.
