Dimmer?

I have heard of people using dimmer bulbs and dimmer power bars to prevent overheating for extended lava-ness. Now what dimmer and bulb combination works best for a 52 oz. and what do you use? What brand dimmer and what setting? How long do you leave your lamp on for?

If you search "dimmer" in the forums you should come up with a lot of useful info. Using a dimmer switch is all about personal preference when it comes to setting it. I don't have immense experience with "regular lamps" but I know people have posted a ton of info about their personal experiences.
