DIY Lava Lamps

Since it seems there's no way to get Goo Kit over here for a reasonable price due to shipping costs, I have looked a bit more into doing a perc/candle wax lava lamp. Since I still am a bit cautious about possible carcinogens, I'd do it outside with a respirator mask on. Anyways, what I wanted to ask is if anyone tried this here, and what the results (flow/colour) are.

I know the goo kits are pricey for shipping outside of the states, but you can make way more then one lamp out of a large goo kit.  You have to factor in what 3 lamps or more would cost.  It seems the only way I can get a crystal clear lamp here in the states is to make them myself sadly.   I luv my kits.  Just watching something I created flow like that is awesome.  I don't have the luxury of buying Mathmos here in the states, so I can't say anything about their quality.  Like you are with the gookits, the shipping for me to get a Mathmos here is out of my budget.  Just things to factor in with the cost.  Also, you will save 10 percent until the end of September.  Honestly shipping is even a lot from them here in the states.
