Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Not that I would buy a Clearview from ebay for fear of clouding during shipping, but I'm really liking this color lava!!!  I'm sure someone on OG has one.......It's really different!!!  Hey, I wonder if one can get this color with a goo kit??  Hummm....

Referring back to your gookit purple discussion, I don't trust this to be the true color, but who knows really!  That being said I would LOVE to have this color lava!!

Wow, must have been tired this morning!!!  I never EVEN thought of that, duh!!!  I do think the box lists this Clearview as Emerald green but I do think it is more of a green then what this picture is depicting.....it looks really cool....we need to start thinking about what dyes can be blended to get this color, lol!!!

ANYONE?????

This looks turquoise to me.  I would think a smidgen of green with a speck of blue.

True confession time though, I'm a bit colorblind  lol

I have the emerald green clearview and can confirm that the wax is in that realm of blue green. Mind you, the globe I have is in NO WAY as clear as that globe and could use a bit more wax than China put in it.

You can see mine with the lights off here.  I will fire it up tonight and get a lit shot of it, I ended up swapping the globe with the holo glitter, the clearview base looks incredible with that large holo glitter that Kirk cuts.

ohhhh nice Vox!!!  Never thought of a Clearview with glitter, hummm.....

Keith, ya know that blend just might work, but I would think one would have to go super, super light on those dyes.  I was really surprised at how little violet dye it too to achieve what I did.  I would say out of my first goo kitting adventure what surprised me the most was the tiniest amount of dye you can use to get such color!!!!!

Vox, your Clearview globe didn't look too cloudy in the pic.  Did it clould up later down the road?  My red is still clear but now has all these little white things floating in it.  I'm assuming it's wax but why is it white when the rest of the lava is red.....hey, do you know if anyone ever goo-kitted a Clearview???  Since the MT goo is lighter, it might work nicely in a Clearview base.........ut oh, I feel another experiment coming on.......

It almost whitens up when it is on, looks decent when off and flowing though.  I think the main downfall of the globe is the lack of wax. When it runs it shoots up round balls only, not enough wax to get real stretchy and drippy.  I should have it flowing soon and I can show you what I mean.

I get a bit of stretchy flow from my red clearview after about 3 days, lol!!!!!  haaaa, only kidding, but it seriously seems like that's how long it takes for decent flow.  I still have to order those 30 watt bulbs because the stock bulb just ain't cutting it.  If it still gives me a problem after that, I may just kit it.  I need a mellow color for bedy bye time......

My clear/black was just like that.  It looked fine when it was off, but when the light hit it, it would show off a bit of a haze.  So bye bye, redo!!!

Well, after letting this globe sit and do nothing for quite some time I can say it has cleared out a bit. I was saying mine resembled that picture, seems it did, but has taken on a shade closer to a deeper emerald green kicking some of the blue/cyan out. Since the fog inside mine seems to have settled a bit I wonder if it was contributing to the color shift.

I stand behind it having not enough wax though, can't say that it gained more in sitting around. It is running on a 130v 40w Silverstreak base, I believe the bulb may be down on wattage though since it is only drawing 120v. Not sure what the final output is or if I am off on the concept. Seems to like the higher power in comparison to the 25w clearview it was built for.

Sadly it is still a somewhat boring globe. One of it's most adventurous moments while watching for 10 minutes or so can be seen here.

Vox,I was gonna say, "is that the cloudy globe he was talking about?" because it doesn't look bad at all.  Ya know when I called the LL rep Susan she said that sometime when they sit for awhile they seem to settle and clear.  I wonder if you run such a lamp often will the settle stir up again and recloud?  Hummm....my luck, it would definitely recloud up.  My black/clear was like that.  It started getting that haze.  Ya know there are some things I just won't tolerate with my lamps and that haze is one of them.  Since my eyes aren't what they used to be and I wear glasses, I'm always like, "is that my eyes or is that damn thing hazing up"???  So now I'm calling the kids in, yo, Joey, does that lamp look hazy to you???  lololol......they know I'm obcessed but they have to live with it.  Or another one of my pet peeves is holding something with writing on it in back of the darn thing.  OMG!!!!  The 2nd thing that bugs me out is boring flow.  I wanna reach in that stupid lamp and make the lava move around,,,,in my head i'm screaming, "would ya just do something different already!!!  ANYTHING.....Please......that's why I just had to buy the goo kit and try my hand at it because if not for that route, those types of lamps would be in the trash!!!  lol!!!  ok, my rant is done.  I vented....I go nite nite now, lol!!!  Oh, I forgot, I even stuck one in the frig because I heard the cold helps to clear them.  Ummm, don't do it...mine got much worse.  I have pics in my pics page of my neon purple haze.  Could barely see my hand through it when I got it out of the frig.
