Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Has anyone seen gold caps like this on 32oz globes before?  Was this an early China made globe?  Any info is appreciated!  Thanks!

The gold caps were used whenever they ran out of the "Lava Lite" branded ones. You can occasionally find one on any of the bottle cap globes, but they're more common on globes made right before the switch to China which yours appears to be.
