Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hello everyone!  This is my first post on this forum, and pretty much my introduction into the world of lava lamps!  This isn't really anything I thought I would ever get into, well, until yesterday at least.  My only real experience with a lava lamp would have been back in the 90's, and I had pretty much forgotten about them until I stopped by a garage sale yesterday morning.

Sitting on one of the tables was a really dusty lamp with horrific looking purple wax.  I thought it was neat and that it might just need a heat cycle so I bought it....for .75 cents.  Today I decided to do a bit of research and have come to figure out that it's from 1997, only four years younger than I am.

Nice score Jacob!
That's from the quality era of lava lites. That's a really good score.

Definitely a nice score! The glass looks clean too, no bubbles! Welcome to the OG!

Thought I would upload a different picture of it now that it's warmed up and going.  The lighting makes it look cloudier than it really is.

My roommate just purchased one of the new "Colormax" lamps the other day and he is quite jealous of how much better the 20 year old lamp is. :P

Good Find man
