I have just had a lamp delivered which I bought off ebay,

The wax flows fine, but the liquid that it is in has what can only be described as fibrous bits floating in it, which spoils the look. Any advice please anyone?

What lamp was it you brought and is it possible to return it as there have been quite a fue cases of lava lite lamps having quality issues like this. 

If its not returnable then running the lamp for a good fue hours every day for a while may help clear it up or you could filter the bits out using a coffee filter.
