Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Here's a few pic's of my lamps...

I have a Giant running 12 hours on a 75W reptile bulb. I spent 3 hours

looking for a 100W R20 reflector bulb to no avail.  Guess I'll have to buy one off the net,,,

Hi, yep you need another bulb the recommended 100 watt bulb.

kitty does not look impressed

Yeah your right, he's just 'content' as long as he can hang around me @ the bench

as I work on projects or surf the net.  I have caught him looking at the lamps as they

warm up early, spilling out pea sized blobs, but then he will loose focus and moves on.

You have to own a cat to understand...

This is so true.  I thought I was a cat person until the dogs came into my life.  :>)

Nice collection of lamps, Todd.  Definitely get you a 100w bulb.  Hate to see that anemic no flow in such a GREAT LAMP!

Welcome to the place where all the obsessed ones come!

Kirk is right, Todd, we are obsessed!   I also have OCD about my lamps and that black Starship cap needs to go back on the black Starship, please!   ROFLOL   ;-))    You do have some lovely lamps and kitty is sweet, but I'm a "canine" person too. We do have one cat, but he's not too affectionate.  He's also a she.......named Luther.   Whoops.......lol

Yes, I switched the caps back, my bad...

Thank you!!!  The "switching of the caps"  can be my Christmas present.  LOL  Sorry.......OCD.      A lot of us are like that about our lamps!  lol

P. S. that cartoon is hilarious!

love this one it always cracks me up ! lol

Well I managed to find a larger bulb, 100W reptile.  The bulb is larger than the

R20 Style, so I just shortened the lamp mounting hollow stud.  Left about 1/4 air

gap. I'll let it run for awhile.  This lamp has been running for days on the 75W but

I wrapped the lamp in a towel to keep the heat in as I did the conversion...I can't

afford lost time in heating.

Time will tell.

I hope that works, Todd.  I know nothing about reptile bulbs, but I do wrap my Version 1 Heritage Grandes in towels when the room temp drops.   If I don't, they freeze in mid-flow in a big spike.   Fingers crossed for you!
